The Master's course of the University of Naples Federico II aims to train professionals, architects and engineers, specialized in  Urban and Environmental Design and Requalification by using innovative technologies. Environmental issues play, at the day of today, a central role within the project itself, so there is the need of a design approach which would be inspired to sustainable development, an innovation of the conventional building process and closely linked to all the capabilities of technological innovation. The training course aims also to fill a gap in a field in which the quality of daily life is strictly linked to the quality of the environmental context within a unique planned model.

The architect’s skills must address issues of safety, wellbeing, rational use of material and energetic resources as well as international activities related to climate/energy, to water resource management, land management reduction of the soil consumption.

This course clarifies the professional skills in order to design new constructions and to preserve historic assets with the help of advanced technologies, giving general knowledge of bioclimatic  and environmental matters. Other specific skills will provide the design of an “environmentally-oriented” project, the energy certification, ICT-Analysis of environment, the design of “nearly zero energy buildings”.
